David Singer

David W. Singer, one of Florida's best known personal injury attorneys, has been practicing law in Florida for over a quarter of a century. A life-long concern, for people in need of help, has kept David in a legal career dedicated to representing victims of accidents. David Singer and his law firm have successfully represented thousands of accident victims over the years.

David W. Singer was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1954 and grew up in the Riverdale section of the Bronx in New York. After graduating high school from Horace Mann-Barnard School, David entered Tulane University in New Orleans. In his senior year, he received the prestigious Joseph Merritt Jones Award, which is given annually to the one student who has performed outstanding service to the University. David was then accepted to the Nova Law Center in Fort Lauderdale, graduating in the top 10-15% of his class in 1980. While in law school, he held down 2 and 3 jobs at a time; he was a legal intern in Broward County's Public Defender's Office, a clerk at a prestigious law firm and also set up a legal research service.

David Singer is admitted to practice law in Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, as well as the Federal Trial Bar of the District. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County Bar Associations and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. For many years he has been a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum-membership, which is limited to trial lawyers who have achieved a trial verdict award or settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more, something his firm has accomplished on many occasions.

David Singer is frequently a guest lecturer to other lawyers, law students and to civic groups and organizations. He has spoken at meetings of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Associations. He also has spoken to classes at Nova Southeastern Law Center and the University of Miami, as well as community groups and schools around the state.

David appears on local and national public service talk shows and radio programs. He has participated in the public television show "The Jury Box", demonstrating trial techniques and has also provided commentary on legal issues on the Discovery Channel.

David Singer has written articles and opinion pieces for many newspapers and legal publications. National, regional and local reporters frequently call him for quotes in their stories. Important publications featuring David include The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Miami Herald and National Law Journal. A feature story in Florida Trend Magazine made reference to David's tenacity in calling him a "scrapper".

When not occupied in his law practice, David Singers works for important community charities. He has been a longtime Chairman of the American Cancer Society's biggest fund raiser, "Jail and Bail". From 1996 to 1998, David served as President of the South Broward Unit of the American Cancer Society.

He has been on the American Cancer Society's South Broward Board of Directors since 1992. Twice, David was honored by the American Cancer Society as "Volunteer of the Year". David is a founding Board Member of the Professional Lions Club of Hollywood. David is on the Board of the UJCBA (Jewish Federation of Broward). He is also on the Board of the Jewish National Fund.

The UJCBC recruited David to chair a fundraising event known as "Men's Night Out". In chairing this, David has worked with some great speakers, including college basketball guru, Dick Vitale and nationally renowned humorist and author, Dave Barry.

David's community recognition for achievement was exemplified by his nomination for the South Florida Business Journal/Price Waterhouse "Up and Comers" award and his appointment to the Board of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. David has been on the Board of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for years and he has been a Vice President and Treasurer of the organization. The Chamber recognized David as Small Business Person of the Year and as the winner of their Annual Community Service Award. Several years ago, Hollywood Mayor, Mara Giulanti, appointed David to the Hollywood City Attorney Search Committee.

On a more personal note, David enjoys movies, theater, baseball, basketball and reading. He is married to Sharon J. Glazer, a health care attorney. He and his wife have two children, Sabrina and Douglas.
